The Civic Orchestra of Tucson was formed in the spring of 1975. It performed its first concert on February 22, 1976.

This page attempts to list all the pieces that the COT has performed. Starting with a document that Music Director Herschel Kreloff supplied of pieces that he has conducted, we then went through our COT scrapbooks to identify dates, soloists, and compositions conducted by a few others.

Many thanks to past COT historians Mary Kundrat, Margo Sullivan, Patricia Thoresen, Elaine Walter, and current historian Martha Eby, along with countless members who have provided memorabilia for the scrapbooks: programs, photographs, newspaper clippings, and much more. What a well-documented history we have!

However, there is some missing information in this list and likely some errors. If you have dates or soloists for any compositions listed below or corrections to offer, please e-mail the details to president@cotmusic.org.

George Schwartz is the conductor of concerts from 1976 through the spring of 1979.
Herschel Kreloff is the conductor of concerts from the fall of 1979 to the present.
Guest Conductors are indicated by initials after concert dates: (RB) Robert Bayless, (EM) Ed Moore, (HJ) Henry Johnson, (AE) Ace Edewards, (CT) Chris Tackett, (TM) Taylor Mitchell

A soloist who was a winner of our Young Artists’ Competition is indicated by (YAC). The YAC link at the top shows performances of ensembles of YAC musicians at one of our concerts. The first ensemble performance, on 1/27/2015, inspired the Ensemble category of the competition, officially launched in 2016.

The concert on 3/27/2004 took place in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico, our first international performance. The concert on 12/5/2015 took place at Baboquivari High School in Sells, AZ.
